D. R. STEPHENS & COMPANY - OUR HISTORY
D. R. Stephens & Company was organized in 1973 in San Francisco, to consolidate and
manage the real estate investment activities of the Stephens family.
Over the last thirty years, the Company has been an active investor/principal in a variety of
areas of the real estate business: industrial, office, residential (apartments), condominium
conversions and single-family residential land on the West Coast.
In 1999 Stephens & Stephens, LLC (the "Firm") was organized to invest in industrial and
Research and Development ('R&D") real estate in the greater Bay Area. The purpose
of the Firm was to provide investment vehicles for Stephens family investment entities and outside
partners to generate substantial cash flow distributions and equity growth through ownership and repositioning of high quality assets over an
extended investment horizon.
Managed by Donald R. Stephens and Lane B. Stephens, the Firm now sees the greatest
opportunity in, and limits its investment business to, the acquisition of industrial and R&D
buildings.
The Firm may have interest in large scale, single-family residential land opportunities
in the Bay Area, Sacramento and the Central Valley when the market provides land at
reasonable prices.
